Data Team
The New York City Council's Data Team employs a data-driven approach to influence policy making, to identify and serve the needs of NYC residents. We use statistical and technological tools to analyze data covering a wide range of issues spanning from pay equity to helicopter noise to help policy makers craft data-informed legislation. We provide oversight of City Agencies by sourcing and analyzing data, building models, and creating visual tools such as maps and dashboards while striving to ensure that our models are transparent and our research reproducible. This synergy of data and public policy enhances the Council's effectiveness in crafting effective legislation and oversight of city functions.
